ABOUTUS
The Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Society at the University of Sussex is a student-run collective of 14 students spanning a range of degree courses at the University. As a diverse group of young people, we aim to create a safe and creative environment on campus for all BAME students.
The main purpose of our work is to organise engaging social events while creating awareness of the nuances of being a BAME student and the struggles faced by BAME students in higher education. Our philosophy is to empower and unite, and we also emphasise the support of BAME students through mental health advice, a detailed guide for Freshers, and activism within the UK.
We as a committee pride ourselves on trying to ensure that BAME students have the best experience during their time at the University of Sussex. Additionally, we love hearing from and meeting new people; feel free to contact us via our email, Contact form, or through our social media platforms.
